A Lubbock man has been officially indicted on murder charges after reportedly setting his own mother on fire, then attempting to sexually assault a staff member at a nearby school.

A grand jury yesterday charged 32-year-old George J. Bradley III with murder. He also faces six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of attempted sexual assault following the May 9th incident.

Bradley reportedly dumped gasoline on his mother, 69-year-old Bertha Bradley, and then set her on fire at the Stonehollow Apartments, then ran to nearby Rise Academy, held several employees at knifepoint, and attempted to sexually assault a teacher.

Police arrested Bradley at the school. Bertha Bradley died two weeks later due to injuries from the attack.
