Bowie County Game Warden Shoots and Kills Suspect

A Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden stationed in Bowie County fatally shot a suspect while assisting the Bowie County Sheriff’s Department. The warden, Shawn Hervey, was not injured.

The incident occurred around 1:30pm today on Cummings Lane southwest of Texarkana. It's a side street that runs by a federal prison. Witnesses say the suspect was driving iratically when he crashed. As police approached, the man fired shots at officers. Hervey shot and killed the suspect.

The Bowie County sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Internal Affairs Unit is investigating. The suspect's identity had not been released Thursday night.
