A human skull was found in woods north of Houston.

A man hunting deer in the East Texas woods stumbled across the remains about 125 miles north of Houston in Jasper.

Along with the skull, several pieces of vertebrae were also discovered.

The remains have been sent to a forensic lad in effort to identify the person to whom the remains belonged, but no identification has yet been made.

Mitchell Newman, the Jasper County Sherriff affirmed that no missing person reports had been filed with the county authorities for several years.
