A Boil Water Notice was issued on Wednesday for the City of Big Spring.  CBS 7 in Midland/Odessa reports the notice was issued because of a water main break at 16th Street and Virginia Avenue.

Residents and businesses using water in Big Spring should boil water for at least two minutes before consumption.

CBS 7 also reports that some areas within Big Spring are expected to experience water outages, low water pressure, dirty water, additional air in the water, or other related problems due to the water main break.

Big Spring's City Manager has temporarily banned all non-essential water use until the boil water notice is rescinded. Outside watering, washing vehicles, filling of swimming pools, flushing water lines, wetting ground for construction, or any other non-essential uses of water are strictly prohibited during the boil water notice.
