Body of Dallas Woman Found on Lubbock Street

The body of a woman found dead on an East Lubbock street has been identified as that of 43 year old Stephanie Williams. Her body was found wrapped in a white sheet on East 46^th and Locust around 8:15 last night.

Williams is not believed to be a Lubbock resident, and likely lived in or around the Dallas area. She has also gone by the names Janice Johnson, Lisa Williams, or Stephanie Jones. When she was found, she was wearing blue jeans with an American Indian beading pattern down each pant leg. She was also wearing a crystal and metal ring, as well as a beaded flower ring.

Lubbock Police are treating her death as a homicide. If you have any information relating to Williams death or whereabouts before her death, contact crime line at 741-1000.
