Wednesday, furniture store magnate, Bob Mills, spoke to students at Lubbock ISD's O.L. Slaton Middle School. Mills is the namesake of Bob Mills Furniture which has stores in six  Texas cities and Oklahoma City.

During the hour-long assembly Mills recounted the importance of education, and family, in his upbringing and in the eventual creation of Bob Mills Furniture. Mills also told the students that finding a job or career you love is more important

Mills also issued a challenge to the O.L. Slaton students at the assembly. The student who writes the best Bob Mills Furniture advertising jingle will win $1,000. Mills also said that if the jingle is used in an advertisement he give an additional $1,500 scholarship to the winning student.

Before wrapping up the assembly, Mills gave each O.L. Slaton student a free $99 pillow, saying, "A good night's sleep is the key to getting ahead in life."
