Thursday on Lubbock's First News, Kaye Short of at the West Texas Chapter of BetterInvesting, talked about the organization's purpose.

BetterInvesting is a non-profit organization that offers free workshops and educational programs to those interested in learning investment principles and company analysis. Short explained, "We are not brokers. We do not sell anything. Our principle is just to educate." She described the four basic principles upon which BetterInvestment lessons are based: invest regularly, reinvest all earnings and dividends, buy gross stocks and equity mutual funds if applicable, and to diversify one's investments.

Informational meetings are hosted the first Saturday of every month, except July and December, at 9:30 a.m. at the Carillon Living Center and are open to the public.
