Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke will be back in Lubbock on April 8 as he campaigns for U.S. Senate. O'Rourke is running for the Senate seat current held by Ted Cruz.

O'Rourke won his party's nomination last Tuesday, but only received 61.8 percent support among Democrats. He was running against two other relatively unknown candidates. Cruz won the Republican nomination with 85.3 percent support.

O'Rourke has been campaigning hard by travel across the state and campaigning in traditional Republican strongholds like Lubbock. O'Rourke has already made multiple trips to Lubbock and West Texas.

O'Rourke will host a town hall at Texas Tech on Sunday, April 8th from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Red Raider Ballroom. You can find more information on the event Facebook page.
