On Tuesday morning The Chad Hasty Show welcomed Representative Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) to the program to talk about issues and answer questions in his bid to unseat U.S. Senator Ted Cruz. O'Rourke was en-route to a town hall meeting in Lubbock, part of a series of gatherings in his campaign.

O'Rourke and Hasty discussed a number of subjects, including agriculture, trade wars and tariffs, the dire need for a farm bill, as well as healthcare, ICE, and border issues.

While speaking on the topic of "trade wars", which are so prominent in news and the show's content, O'Rourke said,

I agree with our two senators [Cruz and Cornyn] on this one. This is a crazy policy, especially for Texas. Not only do we feed and clothe ourselves, we feed and clothe the world out of West Texas, [which includes] the largest cotton patch on the planet. And these trade wars compromise our ability to sell to those markets.
