On a recent edition of Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Councilman Paul Beane suggested that the county was not paying its fair share for certain services.  For example:

“We’re lucky to get money out of the county to pay for the mosquito spray that we do out in the county,” Beane said.

And that was just the beginning.  Beane was asked what was

the working relationship  like between the city and the county?

“I guess it depends on who you talk to.  I guess if you talk to somebody who wants to be politically correct and say that everything is OK, and we’re all going to get together and hug a tree and sing Kumbaya and drink a Coke with the rest of the world, they’d probably say it’s OK,” Beane said.

And then he added:

“I think it sucks.”
