Naser Abdo, an AWOL soldier accused of a bomb plot involving Fort Hood soldiers, plead not guilty to new charges today in a Waco courtroom. Abdo was arrested in July in a motel near Fort Hood after a local gun dealer reported some suspicious purchases.

In Abdo’s room, components for several bombs were found, as well as ammunition and weapons. Originally arrested under three weapons possession charges, Abdo now faces six additional accusations, including attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, a charge that alone carries the possibility of life in prison. When asked by a judge if he understood the allegations, Abdo simply replied “sure do.”
