Alan Rickman, the tremendously talented British actor behind such iconic roles as Hans Gruber in Die Hard and Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, has died at the age of 69 following a bout with cancer.

After three straight years of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting, the Golden Globes invited previous three-time host Ricky Gervais (2010-2012) to return for the 2016 awards show. Said Gervais back on January 1, “Because I can see the future, I’d like to apologise [sic] now for the things I said at next week’s Golden Globes. Tracy Morgan Makes Emotional Return to Emmys, Receives Standing Ovation
At last year’s Emmys, Jimmy Kimmel sent a message to Tracy Morgan, who had been hospitalized in a coma following a traffic accident that killed one of Morgan’s friends and fellow comedians. “Shout out to Tracy Morgan, we’ll see you next year, Tracy,” Kimmel told the audience at the time. Almost one year later, Morgan made good on Kimmel’s promise and surprised the Emmys crowd as he arrived on stage to present the final award of the night for Best Drama Series to a standing ovation from the crowd.

We weren’t sure what to think about Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs biopic after the first trailer. Yes, it seemed dramatic and fascinating, but also highlighted a performance by Michael Fassbender as the former Apple CEO that didn’t really look or sound at all like Steve Jobs. After the film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this month to rave reviews — specifically calling out Fassbender’s “enthralling” and “stunning” — it may be time to fully buy in to this project.
