Ashlee Dean of Post Charged With Capital Murder in Daughter’s Death

A Post woman is in police custody after reportedly shooting her daughter in the head.

Late Thursday afternoon, two-year-old Alexandria Lee Courtney-Dean was found dead in a mobile home in the 400 block of South Avenue H in Post.

Thirty-four year-old Ashlee Dean has been charged with Capital Murder, and is being held at the Garza County Jail.

The family had been investigated by Child Protective Service workers last year regarding allegations of neglect and substance abuse, but the investigation ended in November of 2013.

Drugs were allegedly a contributing factor in the situation. Texas DPS is assisting in the investigation.
