"Texas Values Action is proud to endorse Charles Perry for Texas Senate District 28. Charles Perry is a pro-life, pro-family leader with a record of standing for faith, family and freedom in his personal life, and at the Texas Capitol while serving in the Texas House since 2011. His thoughtful, steadfast and reliable work to protect religious liberty, marriage, women and vulnerable unborn children are values that will serve West Texas well."

Charles Perry vacated his position on the House District 83 ballot following long-serving Senator Robert Duncan’s decision to vacate his Senate District 28 office and become the new Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.

Jodey Arrington has been endorsed by the Texas Alliance for Life political action group. Texas Alliance for Life, a pro-life organization within the state, announced support for Arrington citing his strong pro-life values and previous political experience working with former President George W. Bush.

"As our Governor and president, George W. Bush made historic strides toward protecting innocent human life. Jodey Arrington will pick up that mantle and provide the thoughtful, courageous leadership we need to write the pro-life policies of tomorrow that will defend life from conception to natural death," said Dr. Joe Pojman, executive director of Texas Alliance for Life PAC. "We urge West Texas voters to send Jodey to Austin where he is so greatly needed."

Early voting will continue through September 5. The special election will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014.
