Arnesto Ramos Killed After Reportedly Charging at Lubbock Police With Machete
One man is dead following a domestic disturbance situation in Lubbock on Wednesday morning.
Lubbock Police were called to the 2000 block of 63rd Street just before 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 7th.
Upon arrival, officers were reportedly confronted by a suspect holding a machete and a large kitchen knife.
Hostage negotiators and special weapons and tactics officers were called to the scene.
During the negotiation, the suspect, 30-year-old Arnesto Ramos, reportedly charged officers with the weapons.
SWAT officers used a non-lethal bean bag gun against the suspect, but Ramos kept charging at them, according to Lubbock Police. Officers then shot Ramos.
Ramos was taken to University Medical Center by EMS with life-threatening injuries.
He was pronounced dead at UMC.
