Most of the major flooding has subsided across Lubbock, and the South Plains, after Wednesday’s rains, however some closures still persist.

In eastern Lubbock County, a section of FM 835 is closed at the entrance of Buffalo Springs Lake. The Interstate 27 main lanes in Hale Center remain closed due to flooding. Traffic is being diverted around the underpass to the frontage roads.

In Anton, a two-block section of FM 597 remains closed at Santa Fe Street because of flooding. Finally, west of Amherst, FM 303 is closed from FM 37, south, to FM 54 because of flooding.

Additionally, there may still be some localized road closures across the region because of flooding.  Motorists are urged to obey barricades and detour signs while driving.
