Yesterday, Apple held a "Let's Talk iPhone," media event, and like everyone predicted, they announced the release of a new iPhone. However, it's not the iPhone we were all hoping for.

Tim Cook, the new CEO of Apple, announced the company will be releasing the iPhone 4S on October 14th. The phone looks exactly the same as the regular iPhone 4, but includes a better processor, a better camera, and Apple's newest iOS 5 operating system, the iCloud. The iPhone 4S will sell for $200 for the 16GB version. The regular iPhone 4 will now sell for only $100, and the iPhone 3GS will be free.

Now, a lot of people are pretty let down by Apple's announcement. Everyone was hoping that Apple would announce the iPhone 5, of which we still know nothing official. And most of the new "features" the iPhone 4S boasts are already available on some of their competitors' smart phones. But still, I predict this phone will sell pretty well for two reasons: it's Apple, and it's relatively cheap Apple. As for me, I'll just stick with my 3GS until the real iPhone 5 comes out.
