The annual Lubbock Arts Festival runs this weekend at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center and features underwater explorer, cinematographer and photojournalist Berkley White.

Along with White, the exhibit hall will feature 150 visual artists from across the nation, a juried gallery and local artists. There is a stage for various singers and musicians; theatrical performances; and various dance groups.

Kids will have a chance to interact first-hand with the arts over the weekend through various “Make & Take” art initiatives. There is also a free performance of Country Mouse, City Mouse for children included in the price of admission.

There are two special ticketed events during the weekend. The first is the premiere night on Friday which will honor Charles Adams for his work with the Charles Adams Studio Project, Berkley White and more. Tickets for the premiere event cost $40 and can be purchased through Lubbock Select-A-Seat.

The second is a performance by South Asian musical ensemble, Riyaaz Qawwali. Tickets for the Sunday performance will cost $10 for ages three and up; TTU and TTUHSC students and employees can pick up a free ticket at the Texas Tech Student Union building box office.
