One man is in police custody and is charged with aggravated assault after reportedly hitting a person with his vehicle early Monday morning.

Lubbock police say that 19-year-old Angel Guerrero of Levelland is believed to have intentionally struck Amanda Dominguez with his vehicle after getting into an argument with a man that was with her.

The incident occurred near Mac Davis Lane and Avenue V around 2:30 a.m. Monday. Guerrero left the scene, but was later taken into custody by Lubbock police.

He has been charged with aggravated assault and unlawful carry of a weapon. Guerrero is being kept in the Lubbock County Jail in lieu of $26,000 bond.

Dominguez is still in critical condition at University Medical Center as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.
