The search continues for a missing 2-year-old Crosbyton girl who was taken from a caregiver on January 3rd by a man claiming to be a case worker from Child Protective Services.

An Amber Alert has been issued for Leah Marie Aguirre, a Hispanic child with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police are seeking a Hispanic man named Miguel who is believed to have abducted Leah Marie.

Leah Marie was staying with a caregiver in Crosbyton when 'Miguel' entered the home claiming to be with CPS and took the child.

CPS says Miguel was not one of their employees.

Crosby County Sheriff's deputies have been questioning the child’s mother, 22-year-old Tina Aguierre-Gonzalez, about rumors that efforts had been made to sell the child to someone in Mexico.

The FBI asks anyone with information to contact their Dallas-area field office at 972-559-5000.
