On Monday, July 13, an Amarillo man appeared before a U.S District Judge amidst Child Pornography charges.

Brent McClain, 39, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, which carries with it a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a 250,000 dollar fine.

McClain was detained as the result of a sting operation after he accepted an invitation to chat with an undercover FBI agent who was posing as a minor. McClain gave the agent his password to share files on a P2P network, which ultimately led to the discovery and download of approximately thirty pictures, one of which was of a prepubescent male, and one video in McClain's possession displaying child pornography.

McClain who currently remains on bond, has not yet received a sentencing date.
