Aiken Post Office to close

Residents in and around Aiken will have to drive a bit further to utilize a Post Office.

The United States Postal Service announced that tomorrow (December 31) the post office will no longer serve area customers.

Customers who utilized the Aiken P.O. will now have to visit the Lockney or Plainview post office for over-the-counter services.

Rural post offices have struggled over the years to maintain customers and keep contractors willing to run the small post offices.
