Lubbock police responded to an early morning call of a robbery at Extended Stay America and arrested one man on charges of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated robbery.

Officers were dispatched to the hotel in the 4800 block of South Loop 289 just after 1 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived a female victim said she was sexually assaulted by a guest before being robbed at gunpoint.

Patrol officers found and arrested Jonathan Wade James, 51, in his hotel room, reports the department. James was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center with bail set at $100,000. As of Saturday no attorney was listed for James.

The unidentified female victim was transported to University Medical Center for treatment. The Lubbock Police Department announced their Persons Crime Unit is continuing investigating the crime.
