Ag economist Jeff Pate joined Tom and Laura Tuesday morning to talk about the Water College.

The Water College will consist of several presenters mostly focusing on the three main crops in the Lubbock area: corn, cotton and grain sorghum. The presenters will be talking about these crops, their relationship to water and how Lubbock can more effectively apply and use irrigation water.

Pate says:

Ag economist work with the people. The research people work with the crop and we work with the people out there, in my case, production agriculture, trying to educate them, in this case to be more efficient and more effective with water conservation.

Water College will take place Wednesday (Jan. 21) from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture. Listen to the entire interview with Jeff Pate in the YouTube video player above.
