Students, faculty and staff gathered Friday night on the Abilene Christian University campus to mourn the loss of an ACU student. 19 year old ACU student Annabel Reid was pronounced dead at the scene after the bus she was riding in flipped while on it's way to Medina.

The Abilene Christian University bus carrying agricultural students to a weekend mission trip crashed Friday, and injured 15 others. They were taken to multiple hospitals in varying conditions. Four of the passengers were critically injured.

The Associated Press reports that 34-year-old faculty member Michael Nicodemus lost control of the vehicle as it was traveling through a turn on Highway 83 near Ballinger, Texas. It hit a culvert and flipped, ejecting several passengers before coming to a stop. The crash happened at around 3:30, and left the bus a mangled wreck.

The group was on a mission trip to the Medina Children’s Home, which provides shelter for abuse victims, underprivileged youth, and single mothers.
