ABC News Radio, heard here on News/Talk 790, KFYO, has been recognized for excellence by the Radio Television Digital News Association. Specifically, ABC News was awarded the 2014 Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence.

ABC News Radio's newscasts and special reporting in 2013 included coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombing, manhunt for the Tsarnaev brothers, the explosion at the fertilizer plant in West, Texas; manhunt for former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shooting, the blackout at Super Bowl XLVII, an investigation of sex trafficking in the Philippines, and feature specials throughout the year.
