Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, James Arnold, President of Lubbock's American Bank of Commerce joined the show to talk about the state of the economies of Lubbock and the South Plains.

Arnold and Hasty discussed the numbers of restaurants opening as well as closing in town, the commercial and residential construction, agriculture, and the state of the economy overall.

While speaking about the restaurant closures and what they mean to the Lubbock economy, Arnold said,

It's a booming economy for Lubbock, But what you have is, it's survival of the fittest. And so we get a lot of new restaurants coming to town, a lot of new concepts, a lot of chains, and what happens is, the ones that just can't deliver the product in a consistent, reliable standard, they don't last.
