The fire broke out around 1:45 this afternoon on agricultural acreage in the 6300 block of FM 1585 in Southwest Lubbock.

The Wolfforth Fire Department responded 10 minutes later and found two structures ablaze. Henry High with the Wolfforth Fire Department told KFYO News, "We couldn't save the structures. When we got on the scene the fire was fully involved. There was nothing we could do, and since the structures were vacant we didn't want to waste any manpower. We put water around the perimeter so the fire wouldn't spread very far."

The structures that burned down were a stucco building and a wood building with a tin roof. Fireman High said the structures collapsed in on each other after being engulfed in flames.

Wolfforth firefighters anticipated being on the scene for the rest of the afternoon to wait for the fire to burn itself out.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office will investigate the cause of the blaze. The structures sat on land owned by a local partnership and no one was injured in the fire.
