The average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in the Lone Star State is now $2.25, according to the latest AAA Weekend Gas Watch report.

Prices have continued to rebound over the past several weeks after this year’s initial dip, but remain $.97 lower than last year, said the group.

Lubbock remains below the state average with gasbuddy.com reporting prices as low as $2.15 on March 5. They report an average of $2.25 in Amarillo, $2.29 in Abilene and $2.24 in the Midland Odessa area.

The national average sits 20 cents higher at $2.45.
