A Christmas tradition in Lubbock will open next week.

Santa Land will open to the public on Monday, December 10th at 6 p.m.

The holiday happening will be open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. nightly through December 23rd, and will feature a festive holiday village with a huge Christmas tree, animated displays, bonfires, holiday scenes, and Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A sleigh with tiny reindeer will bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to Santa Land each evening at 6 p.m.

The City of Lubbock’s Parks and Recreation department has hosted Santa Land for the past 56 years. Last year, Santa Land was expanded by 5,000 square feet and housed several new scenes.

Between 38,000 and 41,000 people visit Santa Land each year.

Admission for all ages is free. The entrance to Santa Land is from the East Broadway entrance into Mackenzie Park, just east of Avenue A and the South Plains Fairgrounds.
