A huge 4-H event will be coming to Lubbock next year. Lubbock County Commissioner Patti Jones explained how the powerful youth development event has been moved to Lubbock. You can listen to part of the interview below.

The 2011 4-H roundup will be held in June of 2012. The fundraising committee hopes to raise $100,000 to help cover participants attendance fees and equipment rentals.

Jones, who is serving as the Chairman of Fundraising for the Host Committee of the event, says any 4-H event in Lubbock helps boost the local economy. Steers raised by 4-H participants are bought and sold in the county, helping raise feed sales and create veterinary jobs.
