26th & Iola to Close For Bailey County Wellfield Pipeline Project

Supply pipeline construction will cause some traffic changes in Lubbock.

Beginning on Thursday, May 29^th, the City of Lubbock and Garney Construction Company will begin construction of a large diameter water main.

The work is part of the Bailey County well field supply pipeline project.

Construction will begin on 26^th Street and Iola Avenue and head west along 26^th Street to Milwaukee Avenue.

26^th Street will be closed beginning on June 3^rd, and the closure is expected to last until July 15^th.

The first phase of the project will restrict access to through traffic on 26^th Street from Iola Avenue to Milwaukee Avenue except for local residents.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the construction if at all possible.
