St. Joseph Hall plays host to the 46th Annual St. Joseph's Sausage Fest & Oktoberfest this weekend in Slaton.

Oktoberfest is Saturday, October 17 from 1 to 9 p.m., but sausage will be sold at the St. Joseph Hall Saturday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Regular Sausage will be $5.00/lb.; Jalapeño Sausage is $6.00/lb.; and Habanero Sausage is $6.50/lb. All forms of payment are accepted.

Bring a chair with your appetite. There will be live music from No Dry County, Ronnie Eaton, Broken Bar V Band, Caleb Allemand and Dave Martinez.

Wine, beer, soft drinks and food will be served for a $10 cover charge.

Then, on Sunday, October 18, the St. Joseph Sausage Festival and Funfest will be held. Dinner is served at St. Joseph Hall – 21st and Division (FM 41) Streets, Slaton – from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The main menu consists of German sausage made by St. Joseph parishioners, Knights of Columbus Council 2571's grilled chicken, homemade German potato salad, green beans, and homemade cakes and bread.

Adult plates are $10 and children’s plates are $6. Take-out plates will be available at the south side of the hall.

The Funfest, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 18, includes silent and live auctions, bingo, games, music, food, a quilt show, rock wall and spider climber, a country store, a mini-bazaar, and raffles for quilts, electronics, United groceries, a cedar chest, and more.
