$2.4 Million Purse All American Futurity to be Run at Ruidoso Downs Monday

The biggest race of the year for Ruidoso Downs is approaching.
The Grade 1, $2.4 million All American Futurity will be run on Monday at Ruidoso Downs. A sizable sum is also being presented at Sunday’s Grade 1 $1.3 million All American Derby.
The All American Futurity was first run in 1959, and the All American Derby was initiated in 1974.
One trainer, C. Dwayne “Sleepy” Gilbreath handles both Cold Cash 123, the fastest qualifier to the All American Derby, and Ochoa, the fastest qualifier to the All American Futurity.
Gilbreath is one of three trainers ever to train the fastest qualifiers to both races in the same year.
