An intoxicated driver crashed into a woman's vehicle early Sunday morning (March 12) in Lubbock, killing her, said police.

The crash occurred close to 2 a.m at 19th Street and Kewanee Ave. said Lubbock Police Department Public Information Officer Tiffany Pelt via news release.

According to the Lubbock Police Department, 24-year-old Maxwell Lee Ezell (pictured above) crashed his Chevy Camaro into a Mazda while both vehicles were traveling on 19th Street. The driver of the Mazda was rushed to University Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead, police said. After that initial crash, Ezell's vehicle also struck a pickup truck. The driver of the truck wasn't seriously injured or taken to the hospital.

Monday morning, police released the name of the victim: 55-year-old Tanya Jones.

Ezell was arrested, charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center. His bond was set at $75,000.
